It is such a big challenge for most of us to eat healthier. In our society, it is considered normal to eat a modern style of food. Unfortunately, it is now known to be mostly bad for us.

I realize this is writing an unpopular article. Who wants to stop eating the good stuff? The thing is, healthy food can be absolutely delicious! Your body simply needs to get back used to eating whole foods.

When I started the adjustments, I was really noticing that I would miss mostly salt and sugar. That’s added everywhere! And no, in high amounts it definitely isn’t good for our guts.

Eating healthy doesn’t mean compromising on eating deliciously, though. I’ve got seven tips to get you eating healthy and deliciously every day – without sacrificing anything.

1. Understand the healthy food groups

It’s important that you understand the food groups that exist. It might have been a while since you last heard them, so here’s a quick reminder:

  • vegetables
  • Fruits
  • Meat and Fish
  • Nuts and Seeds
  • Eggs
  • Dairy
  • Healthy Starches
  • Beans and Legumes
  • Beverages
  • Herbs and Spices

2. Avoid processed: only whole foods

Any food that is processed is automatically not good for your health and damage your gut. It’s the harsh truth. So the easiest step is to at least limit processed food. So what is processed? Anything that is canned, frozen or packaged or cooked, baked, prepared and has removed its nutritions.

3. Don’t count or limit; eat more but healthy

Most diets that are known to be a failure for most people is when you are restricted. It is super difficult to focus on all the things that you cannot or shouldn’t be eating. Instead, focus on all the foods that you can eat and don’t count calories per example. Just make the right choice in the type of food.

4. Stop adding ingredients

Often we add ingredients to our plates all by ourselves. This can be in the form of added salt to a chicken dish, sugar to our coffee, whole fat milk to our tea, ketchup sauce to a quick meal, and so on. If you start eating the food without all these things added, you’re already well on your way!

5. Homemade sauce the easy way

Sauces are something that can really make your dishes completely taste different. It is really easy to make your own sauce and there are many recipes online. Start with making your own homemade mayonnaise sauce!

6. Consider with supplements

Most likely you are now well on your way with adjusting your diet and are eating healthier. Even if you eat 100% perfectly healthy, our body can use some extra supplements to help take care of our gut and overall health.

7. Exercise, sleep, stress, and water

Beyond nutrition, these are the four major aspects of becoming healthier. It has to be mentioned as if you ignore these four, your efforts into a healthy diet might go to waste. It’s important to catch enough rest, exercise daily at least a bit, to reduce stress as much as you can, and drinking water to stay hydrated.

These are 7 small steps to help you move forward to eating healthier. It can be a challenge at the beginning so look at small changes that you feel are possible. You’ll soon enjoy the benefits and continue with more steps on the list.
